“Champions are made when no one is looking,” Stated Athletic Director Mitch Maclemore.

A phrase not to be taken lightly within Steer Nation. This is a statement that the new coach has now instilled in the student athletes of Big Spring, preparing them for not only their upcoming season, but the lives they will lead after high school.

“It is necessary to work out during the offseason, so we will have two weeks of Strength and Conditioning,” stated Athletic Director Maclemore. “I will be advising the coaches to have the ATC open every week except for the week of the 4th of July, so our student athletes can get there lifts in,”

Coach Mac went on to say that the offseason will not differ much, compared to what they are doing now, but he wanted to reassure that he or other coaches will be there to facilitate training and at some point during the summer he will grant a two week break to the everyone, so they will come back rested and excited to start the new season.

The actions taken by the steer offseason this summer will be in preparation for the upcoming football season, which will begin with two a days on August 7th.
